Paddling encompasses a wide range of sports like Sea Kayaking, White Water Kayaking and Canoeing. Each of these paddling categories has a specific type of boat that best suits a particular condition.
Alaska Outdoors offers a wide variety of Kayaks and Canoes for sale or rent. Our boat of choice for the beginning paddle enthusiast is the "Sit On Top" Kayak produced by Ocean Kayak. We have found these boats to be extremely stable; easy to get in and out of; and very easy to control. The boats are so simple that even our most novice customers with a minimum amount of instruction can engage in this activity relaxed and focused on fun.

For the Beginner that has never paddled before and would like to safely experience this activity we would recommend the Introduction To Paddling Class, Introduction to Canoeing Class or Kids and Youth Classes. Or travel with one of our experienced guides on a short trip down the Chena River on one of our Guided Excursions.
For the Intermediate Paddler that has paddled before and feels comfortable paddling we offer Kayak Rentals.
